George (Levi) Sanders, 93, of 811 Grace Ave., died Sunday at 3:10 a.m. at the Small Nursing Home in Waynetown. He had been there three weeks. He was born Feb. 28, 1871, in Knox County, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Sanders. He was educated in Knox County schools. Mr. Sanders was married to Ellen Wells in December, 1895, in Douglas County, Ill. where they first lived. They moved to Jasper County in 1900. Mr. Sanders came to Crawfordsville in 1950 and made his home with his son, Floyd. He was a farmer until 1925 and also worked for the city of Rensselaer several years and for the State Highway department. He was a member of the Methodist Church at Rensselaer. Survivors include a son, Floyd; two daughters, Mrs. Herman Hass of Fondulac, Wis., and Mrs. Russell Vandarsol of Henderson, Ky.; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother. Services will be Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the Jackson Funeral Home in Rensselaer. Rev. Loran Campbell will officiate. Burial will be in Weston Cemetery at Rensselaer. Friend may call at the Bright Funeral Home here after 2 p.m. Monday. The body will be taken to Rensselaer Tuesday morning for services and burial. – jlr
